Online Content for Singleplayer

Featured Replies

Was looking at Nexusmods and then the RDR2 Mod discord (Only to discover the mod discord is shut down) as I am trying to find a mod, or I suppose a collection of mods that brings the content of Red Dead Online to single player RDR2 for regular enjoyment. Kinda new to modding RDR2 (never really got things working right) and especially new to modding on Linux, so I would greatly appreicate being pointed in the right direction.

Also, the version I have is from the rockstar games launcher. I have yet to get that working on my distro, should I just suck it up and buy a steam copy?
If you all can help, I appreciate it. Cheers.

Hello,

I believe what you are looking for is Red Dead Offline? But I haven't modded the game in some time so I'm not 100% sure.

As for modding on Linux, goodluck! I don't know if R* Game Launcher games will work, I got GTA V on steam working but have yet to get any mods working, and there is very little to no documentation, so it may not be doable yet.

I guess you can try add the launcher as a non steam game and force it to use the proton compatibility layer (GE-Proton tends to be better)

Yoooo

Just did this myself last night as I was curious and missed playing RDR2 (used to play on PS4 a long time ago). I am also on Linux (CachyOS) and after a bit of tinkering I was able to get Rockstar Launcher running through Heroic Games Launcher. I am starting modding today, so have yet to give confirmation on how well that works specifically, but I can tell you that you CAN run it on Linux if you are up for a few steps of tinkering. I wouldn't buy it again through steam if you already purchased and put time into it!

Also, the mod I believe you are looking for is "Red Dead Offline" as mentioned previously here.

@MergingApollo Spent time modding yesterday and today, all mods have been working as anticipated as well without any extra tweaking. So can confirm Rockstar Launcher works on Linux via Heroic Games Launcher (with some tinkering) on CachyOS and modding works as well.
