7 hours ago7 hr After about a week of trying to fix this issue on my own, I think it's high time I start seeking help, lol. I'm by no means inexperienced when it comes to modding, but now I'm genuinely stumped as I can't seem to figure out what the hell's wrong.First things first, my specs, just in case:GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6950 XTCPU: AMD Ryzen 5800X3DRAM: 32 GBMotherboard: Gigabyte B550M Aorus ElitePSU: beQuiet! Power Zone Modular 1000WI'm using the Vulkan API.Temperatures remain in fairly normal ranges.Game runs on a Crucial P3 2TB PCIe M.2 2280 SSDI've been playing with some fairly minimal mods up until about a week ago, when I decided to install a few "bigger" mods (i.e. Kiddo's Hardcore Loot Economy Overhaul and such). That's when things started going downhill. It was especially notable when trying to play through the coming home-party segment of The First Shall Be Last in Chapter 2 (Horseshoe Overlook). I could start this part just fine, but when interacting with Mary-Beth for example, I'd get a black screen out of seemingly nowhere, and then my computer would hard reboot itself.Windows' event log showed two major errors:ID 41, Kernel PowerID 18, WHEA LoggerThe issue could be replicated rather reliably: the game and the computer crashed hard whenever I was trying to play through the party scene, but when I did anything else (like riding around the map, getting into shootouts with O'Driscolls, robbing innocent bystanders etc.), it worked just fine.Upon removing Chelonia Visuals, I could suddenly play through the party scene (and other missions) just fine ... until I installed another mod, Terrain Textures Overhaul, and I got the exact same issue in the middle of nowhere. So naturally, I went and removed TTO from my mod list and thought I'd fixed the issue yet again, but well, it didn't take long for another Hard Reboot. It went back and forth like this for a while until I resorted to a clean reinstall of RDR2 as a whole. Vanilla RDR2 ran just fine, so I decided to start adding a few fairly lightweight mods (Group 1 for simplicity's sake). That went fine too (sessions of 2+ hours), until I decided to add a bunch of more complex mods (Group 2). That's when the issue cropped up again. To me, the logical conclusion seemed to be that one of the mods in Group 2 had to be the culprit - meaning that I deinstalled them one by one to see if that fixed anything, but to no avail. Interestingly, removing ALL mods and trying to play vanilla resorted in the SAME issue occuring not even a minute after loading into the game. Which, fair enough, might have been a stupid idea.Either way, the issue still persists, and I've slowly but surely reached my wit's end.Edit: for some reason, the rest of my post didn't get, well, posted. So here's my current mod list again. The obvious stuff first:Lenny's Mod LoaderUltimate ASI Loader dinput8.dllScriptHookRDR2 V2Mods:Extended Player Animations (+Extended Weapon Animations)Fixed 52 minutes ago52 min Author Update: I did some digging and came across two suggestions. Figured I'd list them here because from what I read, there have been several people with a similar issue already, so this might come in useful at some point...1) check chipset drivers (among other drivers)2) if the clock speed and voltage fluctuate quite bit, manually set the clock speed to max out at a certain value. Additionally, set the voltage at another fixed valueSource: https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/new-ryzen-5800x-build-bsod-whea_uncorrectable_error.3663507/#post-22109691Granted, those were suggestions for the 5800X (without "3D", but I checked my chipset driver and ... sure enough, it was fairly outdated. Updated to the latest version (5.11.02.217 in my case) and gave it a try.So far, I've been able to play for roughly 1.5 hours without encountering a single Hard Reboot. I'm cautiously hoping that this was indeed the fix required for this particular issue. I'll probably update once I've got my full mod setup running and working as it should.
