May 21, 20241 yr So one day i opened RDR2 it ran fine then i found some new mods to install and then i loaded it up and this fucker appeared right on to me A goddamn revolver spinning endlessly, i tried changing to Vulkan to DX12 in the rockstar folder but it didn't fixed it So any man here knows why? New Information After the loading with the images is done it just turn into this pure pit of darkness plus the music stops too Edited May 21, 20241 yr by Free Lad New Information
May 22, 20241 yr Hello, Was the game loading fine before you installed the new mods? What mods did you install? A mod that might help speed up the loading process is this: Main and Legal Menu Skip https://www.rdr2mods.com/downloads/rdr2/other/304-main-and-legal-menu-skip/ It will cut your loading time in half, and load you into story mode, im suggesting it as it might help with your situation, however that depends on your answer to my two questions above. I already deleted the mods i have installed and it's still the same nonetheless i have already reinstalled the game and it's now working fine and the only thing that i can conclude as why that happen is just some file probably got corrupted.
May 22, 20241 yr Sounds like that's might what have happened something got corrupted, doing a verify integrity of cache should fix any issues related to the files, will cost less time then reinstalling the whole game as it checks the integrity of all the files. That is if your game is on steam, but glad you got it sorted! Cheers! April 6, 2025Apr 6 Getting back to this subject i have some possible solutions for those getting the infinite loading screen. Based on my own discoveries, and feedback on my Bandit Hideouts mod with similar issues, we solved this, so here are a couple of solutions that may fix the issue if your using either AB Scripthhook or ScripthookRDR2 V2 version. If your using ScripthookRDR2 V2 then you need to set the following to false in the ScriptHookConfig.ini like this: [Lua] Load on startup = false [Interface] Enable = false [Overlay] Enable = false [General] Enable Reload Hotkey = true Show errors = true Show notifications = true [Open Key] Hold Key = 16 Press Key = 45 If your using Rampage trainer along with AB Scripthook then Rampage may be causing the issue. Why did it work after changing the settings? Are there any disadvantages because of that?
September 21, 2025Sep 21 As you can see in the settings itself of the ini, it disables the startup, overlay, and interface, unless yourusing something for developing a mod or working on a script their really not needed. Disadvantages? Not really, game wont load with it enabled so that is a disadvantage just having it enabled, outside that idk, im sure someone else could comment on the subject, but imo your not losing anything with those set. I want to invite you to follow the discuss about this topic on the ScriptHookRDR2 V2 page [https://www.nexusmods.com/reddeadredemption2/mods/1472?tab=posts&BH=3] on the last part of the first page i´m talking about all the topics about the controversial ScriptHookConfig.ini file and it´s configuration an the relation of the Lua Motor to solve all the clues for everyone. I created a ScriptHookConfig.ini file for ScriptHookRDR2 V2 https://www.nexusmods.com/reddeadredemption2/mods/8322?tab=description to share with those who can´t see the native .ini file that the ScriptHookRDR2 V2 generates by itself, but with your knowledge i ask you if u want to help me refine the method and the code, and to do more deep research of this topics and to find a solution to the Rampage.asi because i think that the clue is to update the Algorythm of the Rampage.asi and merge it with the Algorythm of the Latest version of the Ultimate ASI Loader file dinput8.dll [https://github.com/ThirteenAG/Ultimate-ASI-Loader/releases]. Is the one that mix better with the ScriptHookRDR2.dll but the issue of using the Rampage.asi its because its not the same Algorythm SHA512. The configuration that you are making it´s an amazing find of the Lua Scripting engine. In the description page of the ScriptHookRDR2 V2 you can find this:ChangelogsVersion 2.0Fixed Interface not working on Window resize (VULKAN & DX12)Fixed issues with Vulkan and DX12 not working for some peopleFixed Keybinds not working on Window resize while running on VulkanFixed crash on mods reloadingFixed infinite blackscreen on save game reloadExtended possible .asi mod limit from 60 to 400. (AB has 60)Added ConfigAdded Config EditorAdded Lua Scripting engineImproved performance by 10% (Average FPS boost of 10% compared to older versions and AB)So, it´s certainly a 99% that some issues are caused because of the Load on startup = true of the Lua Scripting engine if you don´t have any Lua Tools or the Lua Motor installed. Probably the unique issue of having the Load on startup = false it´s if you have one or more of this tools because some of that tools need to Load on startup = truelike the RedLua.ComponentCurrent StatusRecommendedExpected ImpactScriptHookRDR2 V2 Lua engineVerified: ScriptHookRDR2 V2 adds a Lua scripting engine, and the community reports that Load on startup = false disables automatic Lua loading. nexusmods+2Consider this the main component affected by your setting. reddit+1If you have Lua scripts that depend on V2's internal engine, they won't start automatically with false. reddit+2RedLuaVerified for RDR2: It's a Lua library for RDR2; it looks for scripts in RedLua\\Scripts\\ and loads them automatically if Autorun is enabled. nexusmods+1 redditTreat this as a standalone system until you confirm otherwise in your installation. redditIt can have its own startup via Autorun, not necessarily controlled by ScriptHookConfig.ini. redditLuaEngineVerified for RDR2: It's a ScriptHook mod for writing Lua mods; it uses scripts/lua/mod and reloads with F5. githubMark it as "Lua-capable," but with unconfirmed autorun in the reviewed source. githubIt can load Lua mods within its own stream, but I couldn't verify explicit autoload at startup. githubRedHook LUAExcluded for this case: the reviewed evidence is for Red Dead Redemption PC, not Red Dead Redemption 2. rdr2mods+1Don't mix it with your RDR2 diagnosis. rdr2mods+1Avoid false positives when checking Lua mods. rdr2mods+1
