I was just fixing to post the same thing. It appears that it works fine in the Epilogue portion, however you must remove it before starting the Our Best Selves mission, otherwise you play through it and the Red Dead Redemption missions (which take a while) and then get the infinite loading screen. I played through twice before figuring this out. As soon as you can save in the Epilogue, you can add it back and things seem to work fine. I wonder if it has an issue to do with the Epilogue being John instead of Arthur, and what happens in the Red Dead Redemption misson.
