RDR2 .ymap mod quick install

Create stream folder: Create a folder called stream in the mod folder (or LML structure) if it doesn't already exist.

Move files: Put all files with the .ymap extension into their respective stream folder.

Check loader: Check the mod's page (or other similar maps) to see which script loader (such as Lenny's Mod Loader) the mod requires to run in Story Mode.
Installation guide made using ai, i dont play the game anymore. if any problems other users help you in the comments or just look how other map mods work from other creators. :)

Where do "Ymap" files go? I saw somewhere that it was supposed to go into a "stream" folder in the main folder however I have no Stream folder

you have to Create a folder called "stream" no caps.  and put it in that.  Use Rampage Trainer.  (dont have too but i would highly adivce)

yes, it should still work same as any other map mods

you can just create folder and name it stream and put files there.. i would recommend looking how other map mods are loaded and just do the same thing, it should work perfectly fine
